Many fold flat for return transport. Mesh aperture and wire diameter are selected for the part being stored. - **Sheet-metal containers** - solid walls and a closed base for small parts, swarf, chips and castings. Oil-tight versions available. - **Steel pallets and stacking frames** - flat decks, trays and frames sized to the load and the racking, with load rating and stack factor marked on request. - **Finishes and markings** - hot-dip galvanising, electro-zinc plating, or powder coating in any RAL colour, plus stencilled ownership text, load ratings and part numbers. ## What a customer can specify - Dimensions: any length, width and height. Euro-pallet footprint, half-pallet or oversize. - Walls: welded mesh of any aperture and wire diameter, sheet metal of any gauge, expanded metal, or a mix such as mesh sides with a solid front. - Access: drop gate, half gate, two or four folding walls, removable walls, hinged lid, on any side. - Base: feet, runners for forklift and pallet truck, castors (fixed, swivel or braked), or a timber deck. Series production, surface treatment, customer markings, then delivery. ## When Gitterbox Nordic is the right supplier - The container must fit a specific part, rack or machine rather than the process adapting to a stock size. - A container model used for years has been discontinued and the fleet must stay consistent. - Mixed construction is needed: mesh sides with a solid front, a timber deck, a sheet base under a mesh body. - Containers must be colour-coded or stencilled per customer, per plant or per part family. - The containers live outdoors, in wash-down areas or in salt air, so hot-dip galvanising is required. - A series is being ordered and a first article should be checked against the real part before the rest is welded. ## Custom container vs. standard EPAL gitterbox The pooled EPAL gitterbox to UIC 435-3 is one fixed design: 1240 x 835 x 970 mm external, 1200 x 800 x 800 mm internal, 50 x 50 mm mesh, around 1500 kg load capacity, stackable 1+4, grey RAL 7030, exchangeable within the European pool. A custom container is ordered when that design does not fit: different footprint or height, gate on another side, solid or timber base, castors, a specific RAL colour, or customer markings. Gitterbox Nordic builds custom containers to any of these specifications, including versions that stack, fold and are marked up like the pooled design. ## What is needed to prepare a quote Internal or external dimensions; what goes inside and roughly how heavy; whether containers stack and how high; how goods are loaded and picked; indoor or outdoor use; colour or galvanising; quantity; required date.
